In a coordinated effort to enhance national security readiness, federal, state, and local agencies recently participated in a large-scale nuclear response exercise in Schenectady, New York. Hosted by the FBI’s Albany Field Office and the Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA), the exercise was designed to strengthen multi-agency response capabilities in the event of a nuclear-related incident.
Participants conducted operations in full personal protective equipment (PPE) to simulate realistic conditions, ensuring that teams could effectively operate in high-risk environments. The exercise also incorporated aircraft from various federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, facilitating rapid response and aerial coordination.
