Yulista Adds Carcoon Technology to Its M6 Hangar at the ACE

On July 21, personnel from Facilities, Safety, Hangar Ops, Paint, Training, and Production Control completed installation of a new Carcoon Workstation in the Aviation Center of Excellence M6 Hangar in Meridianville Alabama. This inflatable workstation technology gives Yulista the ability to paint an entire aircraft without permanently giving up hangar work space.

“The Carcoon portable work station can support aircraft as large as the V-22 Osprey.  This technology will allow us to fulfill our current and future customer requirements at the ACE campus by incorporating aircraft painting into our core competency repertoire,” remarked Rich Montecalvo, Director of Facility and Hangar Operations.

Hangar Ops Manager Rob Lamb added about the installation: “I want to extend a special thank you to all of those who helped in the setup of the Carcoon. The Carcoon was a 2 year prep, design, and build, and I for one am excited to see the possibilities this can bring to Yulista. This was a major innovation for our paint capabilities and one awesome group effort. THANK YOU!”
